Introduce yourself to the class in Slack

Introductions are a great way to start your class. It gets people involved on day one and it is always interesting to read a little bit about everyone. As an instructor, it is important to set the right tone in your introduction. If you want your students to post more, we recommend the following:

  • Make sure you have a profile photo

  • Make it personal

  • Keep it casual

  • Keep it short

  • Use emojis

🦉 Tip: Reply to each student’s introduction and give them a 🔥. A little positive encouragement in the beginning goes a long way in terms of keeping students engaged throughout the semester.
